Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The World Rapid Championship ended in Samarkand on 28 December 2023.
In the open part of the tournament, Magnus Carlsen retained his world champion title. He recorded 10 points in 13 rounds (7 wins and 6 draws).
Russian Vladimir Fedoseev took second place with 9.5 points, China’s Yu Yangyi took third place with 9 points.
Another 11 chess players scored 9 points. The representative of Uzbekistan Nodirbek Abdusattorov also scored 9 points and took 11th place.
Russian Anastasia Bodnaruk won the women’s world rapid championship. She won the title via tiebreaker.
On 29-30 December, the world blitz championship will be held in Samarkand.
