Uzbekistan to launch 10 wind power plants by 2028

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By the end of 2027, 10 wind power plants with a total capacity of 4,400 MW will be launched in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the information service of the Ministry of Energy.

In 2025, a wind power plant with a capacity of 500 MW will be launched in Tomdy district. The first phase of the project will be launched before the end of 2023.

In 2025, 2 wind power plants with a total capacity of 1000 MW will be launched in Peshku and Gijduvan districts of Bukhara region.

In 2025, a wind power plant with a capacity of 100 MW will begin to operate in Karaozak district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

In 2026, a wind power plant with a capacity of 600 MW will be launched in Gijduvan district of Bukhara region.

In 2027, 3 wind power plants with a capacity of 500 MW each will be opened in Kungirot district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Also in 2027, a wind power plant with a capacity of 500 MW will be comissioned in Bulungur district of Samarkand region.

The tender competition for the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of 200 MW in Beruni district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan continues.
