A new Consul General of Uzbekistan has been appointed in Osh
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The newly appointed Consul General of Uzbekistan Zafarbek Akhmedov arrived in Osh (Kyrgyzstan), Dunyo news agency reports.
Before his appointment to the new position, Zafarbek Akhmedov served as head of the Consular and Legal Department. He is 54 years old and is a graduate of the Khorezm Pedagogical Institute (currently Urgench State University).
During his career, he worked as a school teacher, held various positions at the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, as well as in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including service at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan.
He also served as advisor to the chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries.
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in the city of Osh began its work in 2022, and its consular district includes Batken, Jalalabad and Osh regions of Kyrgyzstan.
