First ladies take part in the exhibition "Gaza: Resisting Humanity"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Presidency’s Directorate of Communications has published a book titled "Türkiye’s Peace Diplomacy for the Just Cause of Occupied Palestine," which was specially prepared for the summit titled "United for Peace in Palestine," hosted by First Lady Emine Erdoğan in Istanbul and attended by the spouses of heads of state and government, as well as special representatives from many countries. An exhibition titled "Gaza: Resisting Humanity" was also organized by the Directorate of Communications as a part of the Summit.

First lady of Uzbekistan Ziroatkhon Mirziyoyeva is also taking part in the events within the summit.

The book, which aims to inform the world about the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and which demonstrates Türkiye’s domestic and international efforts to put an end to Israel’s attacks and establish peace, was presented to the spouses of the heads of state and government at the summit.

The book is comprised of following titles: "Historical Background of the Israeli-Palestinian Issue, Israel’s Genocide Attempt Against Palestinians which Started on October 7 2023, Civilians Killed in Israeli Attacks, Statements by the Palestinian and Israeli Authorities, The International Community’s Approach to the Israel-Palestine Issue, Reflections of Israeli Brutality in the National and International Media, Türkiye’s Support for the Palestinian Cause and President Recep Tayyi̇p Erdoğan’s Peace Initiatives."

The book, essentially an archive, was prepared in three languages: Turkish, English, and Arabic, and provides a chronological overview of the Israeli-Palestinian issue from the nineteenth century to the present.

The book, involving images of hospitals, educational institutions, religious sites, historical sites, and international organizations that were targeted in Israeli attacks, effectively conveys to the world public opinion the tragedy of civilian casualties incurred as a result of Israeli attacks.

The book contains photographs depicting the atrocities, suffering, and cries of individuals who perished in Gaza, including women, children, healthcare workers, and members of the press, and demonstrates Türkiye’s support for the Palestinian cause.

In addition to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s statements, peace initiatives and diplomatic traffic, the book extensively covers the meticulous peace diplomacy executed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"We have never left our brothers and sisters in Gaza unprotected and desperate, and we never will"

In the preface, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that the occupied Palestinian territories, which have been the site of the gravest human rights violations and atrocities for decades, were once more besieged by indescribable suffering, blood, and tears.

Stating that amidst a state of silence from numerous nations and international organisations, millions of civilians in Gaza endure collective punishment and lack access to food, medicine, and humanitarian assistance, President Erdoğan noted:

"Consciences remain unmoved despite all the atrocities inflicted, war crimes, and massacres committed; the world continues to watch the unfolding events.

Since 7 October, Gaza has been the target of an unprecedented assault with the intention of obliterating its people, environment, and geography. Hospitals, schools, mosques, churches, historical sites, marketplaces, and refugee camps are being bombed. Innocent children, women, and the elderly are being mercilessly slaughtered. Even the most fundamental human rights are disregarded in the besieged Gaza.

Türkiye, a nation that has historically supported the oppressed, opposed the oppressor, and welcomed the oppressed, continues to support the innocent and oppressed Palestinian people. It is both our humanitarian duty and a requirement of our faith, to liberate our Palestinian brothers and sisters from Israeli oppression and to put an end to the massacres taking place in Gaza in front of the whole world. On the one hand, we have maintained diplomatic contacts at every level since 7 October 2023 and on the other, we have been engaged in endeavours to provide humanitarian assistance to Gaza. We have never left our brothers and sisters in Gaza unprotected and desperate, and we never will."

Emphasising that at this juncture, the present state of affairs concerns the dignity of all nations, the global order and governance, and all institutions entrusted with authority and responsibility in this matter, President Erdoğan said Türkiye has adopted a principled and humanitarian stance in the face of this situation.

President Erdoğan stated, "We have been saying at every opportunity that we do not approve of acts that target civilians. Our priority is the declaration of a humanitarian ceasefire. For our nation, which has had the privilege of serving in Al-Quds for more than four centuries, this blessed city holds a very special place. We underline that lasting peace in the Middle East can only be achieved through the establishment of an independent, geographically integrated Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Al Quds as its capital. In this context, we invite all actors who have a say in the region to sincerely contribute to peace. I am convinced that this book, which was compiled by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, will serve as a testament to Türkiye’s genuine endeavours both domestically and internationally in addressing the humanitarian tragedy that has persisted in Gaza for days."

"Gaza: Resisting Humanity" Exhibition Draws Attention

On the other hand, as a part of the summit titled "United for Peace in Palestine" hosted by Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, an exhibition titled "Gaza: Resisting Humanity" was organized by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications at the Dolmabahçe Office.

The exhibition, focusing on the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, reveals the atrocities that took place from lives lost to the bombed hospitals and schools, and at the same time the Western Media’s biased and blind attitude towards the attacks is presented in the exhibition with news headlines and visuals.

The names of those who lost their lives in the attacks are included in the 24-meterlong tunnel section of the exhibition, which includes a "Gaza Room" where what happened on a dark night in Gaza is portrayed with the sounds of people and bombs.

In the "Global Conscience Room", there are images from rallies in many countries around the world in support of Palestine and messages from politicians, artists and intellectuals saying Gaza is not alone. The exhibition also includes a "Room of Hope" depicting the old times in Gaza and an installation of mosaics showing the impact of bombs during the attacks.

The exhibition by the Directorate of Communications drew the attention of the spouses of the heads of state and government attending the summit.
