Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- The Central Bank of Uzbekistan increased its gold reserves by 6.5 tons per quarter in July-September 2023. This was reported by the World Gold Council.

Uzbekistan ranked fifth in terms of gold purchases in the world after China (78 tons), Poland (57 tons), Turkey (39 tons) and India (9 tons).

According to the organization, in 2023, Uzbekistan’s gold reserves decreased by 12 tons.

The World Gold Council notes that from July to September 2023, central banks purchased 337 tons of gold, down 27% compared to the third quarter of 2022.
