Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Government Resolution approved the Administrative Regulations for the provision of public services for registration of trademarks and service marks.
According to the Regulations, this public service is provided by the Ministry of Justice (authorized body).
An application for registration of a trademark is submitted by the applicant directly or through a representative.
Accordingly, in order to use the public service, you must submit an application through the information system of the authorized body or my.gov.uz or by mail.
After this, the applicant must pay the patent filing fee within 3 months.
After paying the patent fee, the application is accepted and a notification is sent to the applicant indicating its registration number and date of receipt.
The Intellectual Property Center conducts a formal examination of the application within 30 days from the date of its receipt.
According to the Regulations, the following cannot be registered as a trademark:
signs depicting state emblems, flags and state awards;
marks that are false or capable of misleading the consumer regarding the product or its manufacturer;
signs that are contrary to public interests, principles of humanity and morality.
