Japanese HANWA and Ernst & Young Shinnihon to enter the alternative energy market of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 September, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Oybek Khamrayev held a meeting with representatives of Japanese companies HANWA and Ernst & Young Shinnihon.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for the development and expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japanese partners in the development of alternative energy sources, as well as the possibility of attracting direct investment from the company to implement projects for the installation of solar panels in Uzbekistan.

The foreign party was thoroughly acquainted with the industrial and technological potential of our country, as well as the favorable investment climate, benefits and preferences for business and investment activities, including in the energy sector.

As part of the Memorandum of Cooperation under the Joint Credit Mechanism (JCM), signed between the governments of our countries on 25 October 2022, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan allocated Hanwa US$200,000 as subsidies for the implementation of projects in the field of alternative energy in Uzbekistan .

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached between the parties to begin practical work on the joint implementation of a project to install solar panels in our country.
