Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential resolution "On additional measures to improve the identification system in livestock and breeding" was adopted.
According to the adopted, the system of identification, registration and observation of animals in Uzbekistan will be implemented in the following two stages:
at the first stage - in 2023-2024 in 25 districts specialized in animal husbandry (see below);
The introduction of a system for identification, registration and monitoring of animals in these areas is free of charge.
at the second stage - in 2025-2026 in other regions of the republic.
The Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development is the responsible body in this area.
By the Resolution, the Center for Identification, Registration and Observation of Animals in the form of a state institution is created under the Committee.
Also, livestock clusters will be created in 25 districts, in the following areas:
production of meat and dairy products, as well as collection from the population, processing and sale of it in the form of finished products;
production of ready-made compound feed and organization of points for their sale in areas convenient for the population;
delivery of productive breeding stock to the households of the population;
involvement of slaughterhouses, facilities for the acceptance and processing of raw leather;
production of finished products from leather together with enterprises for the processing of leather raw materials on the basis of cooperation.
Accordingly, the created livestock clusters:
loans in the amount of US$60 million are allocated;
provided at least 100-150 hectares of land in each district by reducing cotton and grain sown areas for sowing fodder crops.
From 1 December 2023, a system will be introduced for paying value added tax assessed on pedigree cattle imported by livestock farms for their own needs, based on a guarantee of the Committee within 180 days.
From 1 September 2023 to 31 December 2025, subsidies will be allocated by the state in the following order:
farms producing livestock products - in the amount of 2 million soums for each unit of breeding cattle imported from foreign countries, 400 thousand soums for each unit of breeding sheep and goats;
poultry farms - to cover 15,000 soums of expenses associated with the import of each unit of one-day-old breeding chickens.
