Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The cluster was created in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 11 November 2021. The capacities of 5 engineering enterprises were optimized and a full-cycle cluster system was created on the basis of the Chirchik plant of agricultural machinery. To this end, new facilities with an area of 38,000 square meters were built and more than 35,000 square meters of existing buildings were repaired.

The cluster is capable of producing 15 thousand tractors, trailers and other equipment per year. Employment of 1,000 jobs has been provided. Another important aspect is the expansion of cooperation between industry enterprises, the reduction of costs and production costs.

Recently, the first domestic product, a universal tractor, was released in the cluster. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the first vehicles.

The production of a grain harvester is also launched. The importance of continuing work in this direction, localizing imported products, and involving the private sector in this process was emphasized.

- There is a great demand for machinery in our agriculture. We need affordable, domestic, economical equipment. This requires work on localization and cost. If we do not supply farmers with inexpensive equipment, there will be no interest,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The head of state stressed the importance of technical maintenance of equipment.

It is emphasized that the cluster should not only sell, but also service equipment.

The task was set to create service centers and organize high-quality service on the example of the Tashkent region, to train young people in the repair of equipment for free.

In the cluster, special attention is paid to the integration of science and production, a modern scientific center has been opened. In cooperation with educational centers of German and Swedish companies, specialists are trained here in the form of continuous dual education. At the same time, students of higher educational institutions consolidate their internships in the cluster.

The President examined product samples and talked to experts.

- At present, on the ground, in clusters, the volume of machine-picked cotton is approaching 50 percent. For 6 months of this year, we exported fruits and vegetables worth more than 550 million dollars, and in the near future we want to increase to 2-3 billion. There are many more projects in all branches of agriculture. They need high-quality, affordable equipment to increase productivity and make people’s work easier, the President said.

Particular attention in the cluster is paid to the use of alternative energy sources. In particular, solar panels have been installed on an area of 20,000 square meters. This can cover up to 30 percent of the cluster’s electricity needs.
