Issues of expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held talks with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Takashi Hatori.

During the meeting, prospects for expanding bilateral trade, economic, investment, financial and technical cooperation were considered, a high assessment was given to the growth dynamics of the number of joint ventures with the participation of Japanese capital in Uzbekistan, implementing projects in priority sectors.

The mechanisms and joint actions to attract technologies, management and know-how of leading Japanese companies to Uzbekistan for the implementation of new joint investment projects in the fields of pharmaceuticals, textiles, education, engineering and other areas were discussed in detail. An agreement was reached to organize monthly "round tables" with the participation of representatives of Japanese business circles.

The parties also discussed the possibility of increasing the financial and technical assistance of the Government of Japan for the implementation of socially significant projects in our country. 

Takashi Hatori expressed his readiness to continue active interaction, both within the framework of ongoing projects and with the aim of jointly developing new initiatives.

Separately, the preparations for the participation of Uzbekistan at the World Exhibition in 2025 in Osaka were considered.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further building up successful cooperation and developed a format for joint actions in order to put the existing agreements into practice.
