01/06/2023 16:14

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the symposium, Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov met with ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar and noted that Uzbekistan supports ICAO's policies and practices in the field of environmental protection.

The Minister emphasized that the most effective contribution of Uzbekistan in reducing carbon emissions is the development of production and use in civil aviation of semi-synthetic (50/50) aviation fuel (SSF) Jet A-1, which reduces emissions by 20%. Makhkamov added that in the future it is planned to switch to fully synthetic aviation fuel produced by Uzbekistan GTL.

As a result of the meeting, plans were announced for holding the 42nd meeting of the ICAO working group "Implementation of professional language requirements" (EUR / NAT ICAO EASPG LPRI TF / 42) on June 5-6, 2023 in the city of Samarkand.

A number of bilateral meetings were also held at the forum site with Indonesian Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, representatives of Hyundai Motor Group, Korea Airport and Incheon Airport.
