Shavkat Mirziyoyev: “We will bring the economy of Uzbekistan to US$160 billion”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During his speech at the congress of UzLiDeP, Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed out that Uzbekistan’s GDP will reach US$160 billion.

- By 2030:

- we will bring the economy to US$160 billion, increasing it by 2 times;

- increase the volume of GDP per capita from today’s US$2,200 to US$4,000.

As a result, Uzbekistan will definitely enter the group of “states with an upper-middle income”.

From 2024:

- persons who have acquired new housing, half of the value added tax will be returned;

- 50 percent of the value added tax will be returned to farmers who sold agricultural products.

“In Uzbekistan, for the first time in our history, we will start the production of aluminum, lithium, steel and graphite. And hundreds of new products can be produced from this raw material,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the main tasks in the energy sector.

- In the field of "green economy" until 2030:

- renewable energy sources will be brought up to 25 thousand megawatts, their share from today’s 14 percent will increase to 40 percent;

- starting from 2024, a market of "green certificates" will be created in the industry;

- buses will be completely transferred to environmentally friendly electric or gas fuel;

- all new houses and equipment will be subject to energy saving requirements.
