Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Agency of Cinematography under the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan held a zoom meeting between the leadership of the Agency and the State Unitary Enterprise Uzbekfilm with the famous Russian director Janik Faiziev and the famous Indian director and screenwriter Umesh Mehra.

The main topic of discussion was the intention to create a joint Uzbek-Russian-Indian film - a remix of the legendary "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves", organizational issues, the choice of actors and the approximate budget of the film.

The choice of partners for filming the film was not made by chance. Janik Faiziev is the director of such well-known films as Turkish Gambit, Goalkeeper of the Galaxy, August. Eighth” and others, is the nephew of Latif Fayziev, the director of the film “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves” in 1979. And he shot this film together with the Indian director Umesh Mehra.

At the meeting, proposals were made that the picture should continue the first part of the legend of the poor woodcutter Ali Baba, who found untold wealth in the fabulous cave of the robbers, but in a modern interpretation.

At the conference, an agreement was reached to meet in person at the beginning of July this year for a detailed study of all the practical issues of creating a film.
