The chief judge of the Uzbekistan Fencing Federation dies after cosmetic surgery

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The chief judge of the Uzbekistan Fencing Federation, Aida Khasanova, has died at the age of 40. This was reported in the press service of the federation.

According to media reports, Khasanova died on 23 May after a cosmetic surgery in a private clinic in Tashkent. She was hospitalized after her health deteriorated, but she died in intensive care.

A forensic medical examination is currently underway to determine the cause of death. The prosecutor’s office of the Chilanzar district of Tashkent is conducting a pre-investigation check.

Aida Khasanova was born in 1983 in Tashkent. She was a master of sports in fencing, multiple champion of Uzbekistan, champion of Central Asia in 2001-2006, and also won the "gold" of the international tournament in England in 2005.

In 2014, Khasanova became the first international judge in the history of Uzbekistan in fencing in three types of weapons. From the same year she worked as a judge in the International Fencing Federation. In 2017, she was appointed chief referee of the Uzbekistan Fencing Federation.
