Charity concerts of Vladimir Spivakov take place in Tashkent and Bukhara

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 and 30 April, charity concerts of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia were held in Tashkent and Bukhara under the direction of Vladimir Spivakov, People’s Artist of the USSR, UNESCO Artist of Peace.

In Tashkent, Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Italian Capriccio, Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 (soloist Nadir Khashimov) and Sergey Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances were performed, and the orchestra performed compositions of Uzbek classics at the end of the evening.

In Bukhara, the orchestra performed suites from Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s ballets The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker and Swan Lake.

The concerts are of a charitable nature: they are attended by students of special music schools, the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, students of boarding schools for children with disabilities.

The concerts were held on the stage of the Alisher Navoi Bolshoi Theater and open-air in the historical complex Poi Kalyan near the Kalyan minaret with the assistance of the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan and the Alisher Usmanov Charitable Foundation "Art, Science and Sport".
