Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The international rating agency Quacquarelli Symonds - QS World University Rankings has announced the results of the Subject Ranking of world universities for 2023.
The National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek and the National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" entered the TOP-500 higher educational institutions in 4 areas of science (modern languages, mathematics, physics and astronomy, environmental sciences).
In addition, Uzbekistan is represented in industry ratings for the first time. The only Uzbek university that took part in the industry rankings was the National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" (TIIAME), which is located in the range of 451-500 in the industry ranking in Engineering Sciences and Technology and in the range of 501-520 in the industry ranking in Natural Sciences.
According to the results of the 2022 ranking, the National University of Uzbekistan took 451-500th place in the field of "Mathematics", and this year it has risen by 100 positions in this direction.
"QS World University Rankings by Subject" - world universities in 51 fields of science are evaluated on the basis of a survey conducted between employers and the international scientific community, the prestige (reputation) of higher education institutions in these fields of science, the "h" index and citation of scientific articles are evaluated, published in these areas on the basis of the international scientific database "Scopus", in addition, among universities, the indicators of international cooperation are assessed based on the data of the International Research Network (IRN)).
