Fitch Ratings representatives visit the Central Bank of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the annual review of bank ratings, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan held a meeting of management with analysts from the Fitch Ratings agency.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of the transformation of state-owned banks and the prospects for their privatization. It was noted that, in accordance with the approved Banking System Reform Strategy for 2020-2025, a phased transformation and privatization of the state share of commercial banks is underway.
During the dialogue, the parties also discussed issues related to the participation of banks in preferential lending programs, the latest changes in prudential requirements, including as part of the transition to Basel III standards and others.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue interaction on the issues discussed.
