Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 March, a session of the Constitutional Court of Uzbekistan began, where the draft Constitution in a new edition is considered.
It was noted that the judges of the Constitutional Court did not find any factors preventing the holding of a referendum on the Constitution.
The new draft of the Constitution fully complies with the current Constitution, all other laws of Uzbekistan and international documents, said Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov, Chairman of the Constitutional Court.
It should be reminded that the Legislative Chamber adopted the draft law on the Constitution in a new edition. The referendum on the new constitution will be held on 30 April.
It is expected that the Constitution will be updated by 65%, it will be replenished with 27 new articles - their number will increase from 128 to 155. The number of norms will be 434 (now 275).
