Indian city of Bangalore hosts festival dedicated to Samarkand’s tourism potential

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A festival organized jointly by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India, Uzbekistan Airways and "The Tribe & Co" company was named "Road to Samarkand", Dunyo news agency reported.

The international event was held at the Jayamahal Palace Hotel in Bangalore. The festival site was decorated with articles on culture and tourism potential of Uzbekistan. Participants and guests of the festival took great interest in national music and dances, samples of folk crafts of the Hunarmand Association members.

Two winners of a quiz on Uzbekistan were presented with air tickets to visit our country, provided by Uzbekistan Airways.

According to the festival organizers, more than 15 thousand guests visited the event during the day.

Bangalore is the administrative centre of Karnataka state, the third largest city of the country. The city is considered the technological and IT hub of India, and is often referred to as the "second silicon valley of the world".

The festival received extensive coverage in the Indian media. More than 300 million people live in Karnataka and neighbouring states.
