Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Tashkent police department receives information that an international youth movement called Ryodan, inspired by the characters of one of the Japanese anime and comics, has fans among teenagers and the capital of Uzbekistan. What is worth knowing about the movement and how it can be dangerous?
Initially, the Ryodan movement consisted of several virtual communities on the Internet: they were dedicated to the love of Japanese animation art and did not pursue other goals than to unite teenagers according to their interests. Children discuss their favorite art and choose similar clothes (checkered pants and t-shirts with a spider print on the back and the number 4). However, over time, a number of aggressive individuals appeared within the virtual movement, obviously pursuing goals to destabilize the situation in the city, controlling the unformed, manipulable worldview of adolescents, which then led to the emergence of a new offshoot of the movement - an aggressive group gaining more and more followers. Children, succumbing to destructive slogans and influence from strangers on the network, begin to gather in public places and initiate mass fights and brawls.
At the moment, such incidents, organized by followers of the offshoot of the Ryodan subculture, are regularly recorded in several countries, including the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Belarus. Fights often result in bodily injuries of varying severity (both among the juvenile debauchers themselves and those who were chosen as a demonstrative "target"), as well as damage to other people’s property, which leads to the initiation of numerous administrative and criminal cases, detentions and arrests. We would like to prevent a similar outcome on the territory of our city.
Dear parents! Be attentive to your child’s hobbies, show a lively friendly interest in his hobby, supported subculture, and especially unknown persons with whom children communicate online based on common interests. There is nothing wrong with being obsessed with anime and manga, but you should make sure that on the basis of your hobby, the child will not fall under the bad influence of unknown persons, will be able to separate virtuality from reality, and will not follow dubious appeals and slogans. Do not be indifferent to the life and experiences of your child: regularly support a discussion with him of his interests and hobbies in order to notice destructive thoughts and steps in time.
