Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tehran, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran, hosted the first international congress of influential women.
The meeting was attended by 38 delegations from different countries, including first ladies, members of governments, heads of parliaments, as well as business and influential women, the information service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
M. Kadirkhanova, Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Women and Gender Equality, took part in the work of the Congress as part of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The congress was held on three important topics: entrepreneurship and economics, social and charitable activities, science and technology. The participants stressed the need for cooperation in solving the problem of discrimination against women and exchanged views on this topic. It was noted that the Congress contributes to the unification of efforts aimed at empowering women.
During the International Congress, it was especially noted that today in our country, under the leadership of the President, systemic reforms are being carried out aimed at empowering women, increasing their role in all processes of government and society as a whole.
So, in 2022, 3 historical documents were adopted - 2 decrees and 1 resolution on the implementation of measures to further accelerate work on systemic support for families and women. It was noted that these documents established 42 additional benefits for women.
It was said that special attention is paid to such areas of the state policy of Uzbekistan as supporting the family, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of women, increasing their economic, social and political activity.
As a result of the Congress, an agreement was reached on cooperation to empower women in various areas of life, further develop interaction and exchange of experience, identify and eliminate important problems.
