Travel companies of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan sign cooperation agreements within the framework of the tourism and trade forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Travel companies of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan signed 21 cooperation agreements within the framework of the tourism and trade forum, which took place in the city of Dushanbe, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reports. The event was held with the support of the Government of the country and at the initiative of the Committee for Tourism Development.

The forum was attended by the leadership of the Committee for Tourism Development, representatives of ministries and departments of Tajikistan, associations, domestic travel companies, hotels, boarding houses and medical institutions, from Uzbekistan - representatives of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, travel companies of the country.

At the forum, the parties provided information on the tourism potential of both countries. Hope was expressed that the use of best practices and knowledge in the field of tourism in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will provide comprehensive assistance to the further development of humanitarian cooperation in strengthening joint tourism and cultural ties in the Central Asian region.

At present, cooperation between the travel companies of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan has been established at the proper level, and regional routes are also being implemented.

There are 240 travel companies operating in the tourism services market of Tajikistan.

In general, more than 100 cooperation agreements on mutual attraction of tourists were signed between the travel companies of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Today, on the basis of an agreement between the governments of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan on mutual passenger trips of citizens and an agreement between the governments of both states on cooperation in the field of tourism, many tourist groups in Tajikistan visit Uzbekistan and vice versa.

In terms of the number of tourists, Uzbekistan is among the top ten countries with the largest number of tourists visiting Tajikistan

The tourism cooperation agreement aims to develop relations in priority areas, including the exchange of information on the development of tourism through publications, films, promotional events, conferences, training, organizing exhibitions and establishing cooperation between domestic tourism companies and tourism companies in Uzbekistan.

The start of a visa-free regime between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan created an effective chain that contributed not only to the development of the tourism sector between the two countries, but also to regional tourism cooperation. When visiting Tajikistan, Uzbek tourists are more interested in the types of health-improving, ecological and pilgrimage tourism

During the forum, 21 cooperation agreements were signed between domestic and Uzbek travel companies in order to strengthen cooperation and attract tourists to each other’s countries.

Also, within the framework of the forum, an information trip (infotour) was organized for the guests to interesting tourist sites in Tajikistan.
