Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan: mutual supply of electricity is carried out in accordance with the schedules approved by the parties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan informs that in accordance with the Protocol signed on 11 March 2021 between the Ministry of Energy and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a mutual supply of electricity, according to the schedules approved by the parties.

Taking into account that there was low water in the Central Asian region, in order to prevent the drawdown of the Toktogul reservoir to a critical level, in accordance with the agreements between the economic entities of the parties, electric energy produced from Turkmen gas was supplied to the Kyrgyz Republic.

At the same time, in accordance with the agreements on a contractual basis, transit of electricity from Turkmenistan to the Kyrgyz Republic through the energy system of Uzbekistan is carried out based on the capacity of the energy systems.

At the same time, it should be noted that the economic entities of the parties signed relevant contracts aimed at ensuring the transit of Turkmen electric energy in 2023.

Cooperation between the ministries of energy and energy companies of the two countries is carried out on the principles of mutual respect and consistency in the mode of operation of energy systems.
