Vladimir Norov meets with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with the representative of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe on freedom of the media Teresa Ribeiro.
An exchange of views took place on the further development of interaction with the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media in all areas of mutual interest.
It was noted that today in Uzbekistan, under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, cardinal transformations are being carried out to improve the information sphere, a policy of openness and commitment to ensuring freedom of the media based on generally accepted international standards is being actively pursued.
As emphasized, close and open interaction with the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, based on trust and mutual respect, has been dynamically developing over the past years.
The necessity of implementing joint projects aimed at building up the professional skills of journalists, bloggers, as well as press secretaries of state bodies of the republic through the organization of trainings and training courses with the participation of foreign specialists and OSCE experts was stated.
Interest was expressed in jointly holding a series of seminars dedicated to ensuring the rights and improving the skills of women journalists.
