Vladimir Norov meets with the Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 December 2022, on the sidelines of the 29th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Lodz, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA) Margaret Sederfelt.

The head of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan congratulated M. Soderfelt on her re-election as the Chairman of the Assembly in July this year.

Issues of expanding interaction between the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the OSCE PA were discussed.

Vladimir Norov informed the Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly about the dynamic wide-ranging democratic reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan, affecting almost all spheres of society.

As noted, one of the main goals of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan is to further enhance the role of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis and political parties in the consistent continuation of reforms in the country.

An exchange of views took place on organizational aspects related to the autumn session of the OSCE PA in 2023 in Uzbekistan.

The sides also considered certain issues of international and regional character.
