The aim of the employment programme, developed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, was to ensure the growth of employment, incomes and living standards of the population.

The programme is based on the results of the analysis of the current state of the labor market and the forecast until the end of 2009. It also takes into consideration the measures for development of the economic sectors and the country’s territories for 2010 in accordance with the investment, industrial localization, technical modernization and the anti-crisis programs.

The document envisages creation of a total of 950,000 new workplaces in 2010, UzA reported.

The MPs stressed that the employment program had a huge social importance in the conditions of the world financial and economic crisis, as well as deepening market reforms in the country.

They added that the practical implementation of the programme required unification of efforts of not only authorities, but also of the public organizations and the business structures.

Implementation of complex and targeted measures in this area will help solve not only the employment problem, but also other important socioeconomic issues in the country, the MPs noted.
