Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 14 November, a delegation of analytical centers of Uzbekistan met with the President of the well-known French Institute of International and Strategic Relations (IRIS) Pascal Boniface in Paris.

The event was attended by representatives of the International Institute of Central Asia, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies, as well as the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

Issues of strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and France were discussed. There was also an exchange of views on positive changes in the Central Asian region.

The head of the IRIS Institute was informed about the main provisions of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan, the initiatives of the President of our state aimed at strengthening the interconnectedness between Central Asia and neighboring regions.

Pascal Bonifas highly appreciated the efforts of the Leader of Uzbekistan aimed at close rapprochement between the two countries. It was emphasized that the agreements reached following the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan in 2018 contribute to the expansion of political dialogue, trade and economic ties and humanitarian exchanges between the two countries.

As a result of the meeting, the participants agreed to establish close research work in priority areas for the institutes, and agreed to hold joint events.

IRIS is a leading French think tank conducting research on geopolitical and strategic issues. It is the only analytical institute in France that combines a research center and an educational institution that issues diplomas.

Out of 53 French think tanks, IRIS was ranked 8th in the overall ranking and received 4 out of 5 stars. According to the criterion of management, IRIS ranks 3rd, the criterion of transparency - 12th place.
