Relations between the two states have long history. We all know that a statesman and public figure, Lal Bahadur Shastri, played a very important role in this sphere. That is why work done by him is highly valued not only in India but also in Uzbekistan. This alone shows the quality of our mutually beneficial relations," Krishna said while visiting Lal Bahadur Shastri’s monument in Tashkent.

The report said that an Indian delegation, headed by this country’s foreign minister, visited the Indian studies department at the Beruniy institute of oriental studies under the Academy of Science of Uzbekistan.
