Measures to popularize opera and ballet approved in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to popularize the art of opera and ballet and encourage talented artists” was adopted.

In accordance with the resolution of the President from 27 December 2021 No. PP-64, in order to introduce a system for searching, identifying, realizing the potential and stimulating talented youth in the field of opera and ballet art, annually hold republican competitions on a traditional basis:

in February - young vocalists;

in April - young ballet performers;

in June - conductors, directors and choreographers.

It was determined that the owners of the Grand Prix and the 1st place of the republican review competitions are accepted to study in the relevant areas of education of state higher educational institutions on the basis of a state grant in addition to the quota for undergraduate admission.

Since 2022, every two years at the expense of the State budget, the following are carried out:

International Review Competition for Young Opera Performers named after Halima Nosirova;

International Festival of Opera and Ballet "Tashkent Spring".

Creative figures who take I, II and III places in international authoritative festivals and competitions in the field of opera and ballet are awarded at the expense of the State budget with a one-time cash prize, not subject to income tax:

1st place - 100 sizes of basic estimated value;

II place - 70 sizes of basic estimated value;

III place - 50 sizes of basic estimated value.

The document approved the provisions on the procedure for organizing and holding contests and festivals. Among the main tasks of the organizing committees being created:

timely development of an action plan for the preparation and holding of the event;

setting specific deadlines and announcing them in the media;

forming the composition of the jury of international events, approving the procedure for its work, determining the age limit of the participants in the competitions and ensuring the participation of experts who are members of the jury;

development of cost estimates, attraction of patrons and sponsorship of legal entities and individuals on an ongoing basis.
