Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15-16 September, Samarkand will host the next summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh will take part in it as an observer.
At the international airport of Samarkand, the distinguished guest was met by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and other officials.
Then the President of Mongolia visited the Khazrati Khizr memorial complex. The distinguished guest laid flowers at the grave of the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and paid tribute to his memory.
On the sidelines of the summit, President Khurelsukh intends to meet with the heads of the SCO member states and observer states and discuss with them a number of issues of mutual interest.
The Mongolian president will also take part in a trilateral meeting with the leaders of Russia and China. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it had to be postponed for two years. The participants will discuss the "Economic Corridor Program" of the three countries and the supply of Russian natural gas to China through Mongolia.
