Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan said that information about the disappearance of some citizens who participated in demonstrations in Karakalpakstan is completely unfounded.
Earlier, the Open Dialogue Foundation published a list of 58 names of missing citizens.
Khayot Shamsutdinov, spokesman for the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan, noted that information about the disappearance of some citizens who took part in the demonstrations on 1-2 July in Karakalpakstan is a fake.
Shamsutdinov noted that completely unfounded and untrue "fake" news about the disappearance of some citizens who took part in the event is being circulated in some foreign social networks.
According to him, some of the citizens included in the distributed list are at home. And some of them went abroad, and some do not exist at all.
