Finance Ministry hosts meeting with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 June 2022, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the Regional Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for Central Asia, Zhuzhanna Hargitai.

The meeting was also attended by Director of the Department of Tariff Policy and Reform of state-owned Enterprises Khurshed Mustafayev, Director of the Department for the Transformation of Commercial Banks with the participation of the state Jamshid Abdushukurov, Director of the Department of International Financial Relations Ajiniyaz Kaipnazarov, Head of the EBRD Permanent Mission in Uzbekistan Alkis Drakinos, Head of Energy Resources Aida Sitdikova, Regional Director for Energy Resources Yerlan Ramazanov, Chief Banker for Energy Resources Malika Mirsaidova, Senior banker for financial institutions Jahan Shamsiev.

The main purpose of this meeting is to discuss the transformation of state-owned banks and explore the possibility of the EBRD’s support in the reform of state-owned banks and enterprises with state participation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the improvement of the transformation process of state-owned enterprises and banks, as well as exchanged views on these areas.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop cooperation and expand cooperation on the above issues.
