Akmal Nur receives the Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 June, the ceremony of awarding the Honorary Diploma of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan to the Chairman of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan Akmal Nur was held at the residence of the Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Fujiyama congratulated Akmal Nur on this award, highly appreciating his merits, and expressed gratitude for his efforts in popularizing the culture and art of Japan. In his welcoming speech, the Ambassador noted that after the appointment of Akmal Nur as the Chairman of the Academy of Arts, more than 200 cultural events dedicated to Japan were held. In particular, the "Days of Japanese Culture", which started on his initiative, are of great importance.

In his response speech, Akmal Nur said the following: “This certificate is a valuable award for all creative figures in Uzbekistan, and I am grateful to the Japanese government for appreciating my modest contribution. We are not going to rest on our laurels, we intend to continue to implement various cultural projects in cooperation with the Embassy and make efforts to maintain friendly relations with Japan. And given us so much attention will serve as a motivation and will give confidence in the implementation of our future plans.”

The Certificate of Appreciation from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan is intended to recognize the particularly significant merits of individuals and organizations in the field of strengthening friendly ties between Japan and other countries.

Akmal Nur, being a famous artist, and since 2012 heading the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, to this day is a key figure in the field of culture and art of Uzbekistan. Over the years, he has made a significant contribution to the implementation of a large number of events to familiarize with Japanese culture, held annually by the embassy. Such efforts by Akmal Nur have greatly contributed to expanding the base of understanding of Japanese culture in Uzbekistan.
