Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The city of Ferghana hosted a regional intersectoral industrial fair organized by the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade jointly with the khokimiyat of Ferghana region. First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade A. Voitov took part in the opening ceremony of the event.
The expo spread over 2.8 thousand m2 in indoor pavilions and 1.7 thousand m2 in the open area of the SAMO sports complex. More than 1,800 enterprises of Uzbekistan specializing in the field of textiles, leather and footwear, furniture, oil and gas, electrical engineering, building materials, pharmaceuticals, craftsmen, as well as entrepreneurs from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan took part in the event.
Guests and visitors of the exhibition are presented with 3.5 thousand types of domestic products, including for the first time - 14 types: equipment for public catering establishments, furniture for laboratories and medicine, water pumps and spare parts for them, artificial (synthetic) fiber, X-ray medical equipment, coatings for facades of buildings, natural decorative stone (agglomerate), 3D carpets, industrial filters, electric scooters, smart autonomous mobile traffic lights, large refrigerators, mobile stores and incubators.
The format of B2B meetings and negotiations aimed at developing cooperation made it possible to find common ground with more than 40 businessmen from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
In order to attract small and medium-sized businesses to public procurement, representatives of budget customers from the areas of preschool, public education, healthcare and other budget organizations were invited to participate in the fair.
For visitors to the expo, the Khokimiyat of Ferghana region, the Ministry of Innovative Development, the Associations "Uzeltehsanoat", "Uzcharmsanoat", "Uzstroymaterialy", the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry and a number of trend-setting companies held presentations on the investment and industrial potential of the respective industries, the specifics of production in various regions of the country, as well as measures of state support for entrepreneurs and exporters.
In order to translate the dialogue with investors into the plane of concrete prospects, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade presented 240 promising investment projects worth US$3.1 billion, developed taking into account the natural, infrastructural and other advantageous aspects of Ferghana region.
As a result of the fair, 779 contracts were concluded through the Electronic Cooperation Portal for a total of 272.4 billion soums, of which 140 contracts for 109.2 billion soums by regional enterprises for the purchase of products and 648 contracts for 257.2 billion soums by regional enterprises for the supply of products. In addition, 14 memorandums of cooperation were signed during the fair for a total of 10.91 billion soums.
