A meeting takes place with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Uzbekistan Charlotte Adrian

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 May 2022, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade with the Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Charlotte Adrian.

During the negotiations, issues of multifaceted trade, economic, investment, financial and technical cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU were discussed.

The parties discussed the issues of holding the 5th meeting of the Working Group on the accession of the republic to the WTO, the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Uzbekistan-EU Cooperation Committee and other issues of mutual interest.

There was an increase in trade by 30% between Uzbekistan and the EU in the first quarter of this year, including increase in exports of Uzbek products to the European market by 56% due to the status of a beneficiary of the EU’s Generalized System of Preferences "GSP +".

Following the talks, the parties agreed to accelerate the implementation of joint initiatives and programs aimed at further expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union.
