Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Andijan, under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov, an offsite meeting of the Government Commission on Foreign Trade, Investments, Development of Local Industry and Technical Regulation was held. It was dedicated to the discussion of the current state and measures to further stimulate the socio-economic development of Andijan region.

The meeting was attended by heads of ministries, departments, industry associations, commercial banks and local authorities of districts and cities of the region.

The progress in fulfilling the instructions given during the previous visit to the region by the Government Commission was considered. Responsible leaders reported on the work done and voiced the issues that remain open at the moment. For each issue, targeted solutions were developed with reference to specific deadlines.

During the meeting, 304 problematic issues were discussed, including those related to the allocation of credit resources, the prolongation of interest payments on previously issued loans, the need to connect to utilities, the allocation of land plots, empty buildings and structures, the return of previously paid amounts of value added tax , obtaining the necessary permits and certificates and other aspects. Directly on the spot with the involvement of the heads of relevant ministries, departments, commercial banks and local authorities, 57 problematic issues were resolved.

For the remaining 247 issues, specific decision algorithms were developed, and targeted instructions were given to responsible managers to implement the relevant practical measures in a timely manner.

Measures were discussed to develop the industrial potential of the region, including by restoring the activities of enterprises that have suspended production or are not operating at full capacity. The heads of the relevant structures were tasked with promptly ensuring the solution of all existing issues and systematizing the monitoring of the activities of industrial production in the region. 

The urgency of increasing the localization of the production of high-tech competitive products with high added value is emphasized.

Promising ideas and proposals for further stimulating the socio-economic development of Andijan region in the context of industries, districts and cities were also considered.

It was instructed to finalize the mechanisms for the practical implementation of the proposals voiced and to form an action plan to increase the indicators of investment, industrial and export activities in the region.

As a result of the meeting, responsible managers were given additional instructions for the effective implementation of the tasks set.
