Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Chair of the Delegation of the European Parliament for Relations with Afghanistan, Petras Auštrevičius.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of relations between Uzbekistan and the European Parliament in the Afghan direction.

The productive results of the consultative meeting of Special Envoys and Representatives of the EU and Central Asian countries on Afghanistan on 23 February 2022, in Tashkent were emphasized with satisfaction.

The high-ranking diplomat noted the significant role of Uzbekistan in establishing long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan. 

The European side was informed about Uzbekistan’s efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and economic assistance to Afghanistan.
