Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 27 January 2022 President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke at the first online India-Central Asia Summit. In his address, the President emphasized the high level of relations between Uzbekistan and India, which is based on the centuries-old history of friendly relations between our peoples.
It should be noted that this year our countries celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations. India was one of the first to recognize the independence of Uzbekistan and is one of the close strategic partners, cooperation with which has recently become multifaceted and long-term.
Today, in Uzbekistan, one of the promising areas of bilateral cooperation with the Indian side is the field of education, because education is becoming the most important condition for the introduction of new technologies in all spheres of human activity and the growth of competitiveness.
Based on this, during his speech, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in order to further deepen cooperation in this area, put forward a proposal to develop a "Road Map" for more productive cooperation between the two countries.
This primarily applies to issues related to the creation of high-quality and affordable educational institutions.
In addition, the President noted that today the process of introducing Indian teaching methods in language centers is already underway, as well as Indian companies operating in the Republic of Uzbekistan have begun investing in the creation of a network of international schools in our country under the AI-B program.
The variety of connections of educational institutions is not just an image or reputation, but a real condition for ensuring the quality of education.
Over the past few years, the government of Uzbekistan has allocated more than 9% of GDP for the development of education, which is one of the highest rates in the world. It is not surprising that Uzbekistan is one of the recognized leaders among the Central Asian states in investing in the education system. According to the World Bank, Uzbekistan ranks first among countries with elite education systems.
In this regard, it seems relevant to open, along with the existing and well-established in our republic, the Amity University in Tashkent; Sharda University in Andijan and Sambhram University in Jizzakh, of branches of new Indian universities and vocational education centers, as well as the establishment of scientific and academic exchange to support innovative developments and start-ups.
