Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan held talks with a delegation of the Republic of Bashkortostan headed by Minister of Industry, Energy and Innovation Alexander Sheldyaev.
As Deputy Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Sherzod Khodjaev noted during the meeting, Uzbek-Russian energy cooperation is one of the flagships of bilateral economic partnership.
Year by year, not only its volumes are increasing, but also the variety of directions. In particular, a number of promising areas of cooperation were discussed with the delegation of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Among them is the exchange of experience on the development of energy markets, the development of high-voltage power lines, independent producers of electricity, both traditional and RES.
The Uzbek side noted the importance of developing cooperation and integration in energy trade. Currently, the Ministry of Energy is implementing the necessary domestic procedures to launch the electricity market and the gas market.
An exchange of views also took place on the development of such a direction as the digitalization of application procedures for technological connection to engineering networks (electricity, gas). For this purpose, the ELEKTR software package has been developed in Uzbekistan, in addition, entrepreneurs can apply through the Single Portal of Interactive Public Services (SPIS) with applications for connection to electricity and gas networks.
Members of the delegation were also informed about promising projects, including the construction of mini-hydro power plants up to 5 MW with the involvement of private investors. To date, 31 promising sites have been identified for the placement of mini-HPPs with a total capacity of 42 MW. Until 2030, in accordance with the Concept for the Development of the Energy Complex, it is planned to commission 24 mini-HPPs with a total capacity of 200 MW.
In addition, Bashkir companies were invited to actively participate in tenders for the supply of components for the energy sector and power engineering.
The parties reached an agreement on a detailed consideration of promising projects of mutual interest and the definition of vectors for cooperation for their further development.
