The experience of Uzbekistan in providing employment and developing women’s entrepreneurship to be popularized in foreign countries
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Senate Committee on Women and Gender Equality held an online video dialogue on supporting women.
It was attended by senior officials of interested ministries and departments, including the ministries of employment and labor relations, for the support of the mahalla and family, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Business Ombudsman, the Agency for the Work of the Mahallabay and Entrepreneurship Development, the Public Services Agency, the Agency for youth, the Central Bank, the Hunarmand Association, the Tadbirkor Ayol Association of Business Women.
As you know, business women and entrepreneurs play an important role in the development of the country, ensuring economic growth, creating jobs, and stimulating innovation. Therefore, in our country, thanks to the implementation of a policy aimed at increasing the activity of women in all areas, the number of initiative, purposeful, energetic, highly qualified specialists and women entrepreneurs is growing.
As noted during the dialogue, the number of economically active women has increased by 10% over the past three years. Women make up 42.7% of employees of state organizations. Thanks to the ongoing systemic reforms in our country to support women’s entrepreneurship and the attention paid to them, they effectively manage almost 130,000 business entities. About 40% of individual entrepreneurs are women.
In this regard, it should be noted that on 13-15 October 2021, the delegation of our country, headed by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, took part in the third Eurasian Women’s Forum in St. Petersburg. It approved the "Roadmap" on the plan of practical measures for the implementation of the proposals and agreements made, according to which the task of broad international promotion of Uzbekistan’s experience in ensuring the employment of women and the development of women’s entrepreneurship, as well as preparing a presentation in this direction.
Therefore, in the course of discussions, the responsible departments for the preparation of materials for this presentation were instructed to summarize, analyze and submit to the working group information on the work done, best practices in ensuring women’s employment and the development of women’s entrepreneurship in our country over the past 3 years in a timely manner.
