Economic, commercial, industrial and trade commission of Iran’s Mazandaran province and Uzbekistan’s Tashkent province was held in Tashkent on Wednesday.

Deputy chairman of the Uzbekistan chamber of commerce and industries Nabijan Qasimov cited the sum of bilateral trade in the past year as US$658.5 million, IRNA reported.

He said the trade balance was in favor of Uzbekistan with US$620.6 million and Iranian export to Uzbekistan was US$37.9 million.

Qasimov added Iran is considered one of the ten countries active in trade relations with Uzbekistan as more than 89 joint companies including 23 companies with a hundred percent investment of Iranians are active in Uzbekistan.

Iran’s ambassador to Uzbekistan Mohammad Fat’hali said the objective of visit of Mazandaran province economic, trade, industrial and commercial delegation to Uzbekistan is study of the economic capacities of the central Asian state and development of mutual relations.

Iranian delegation will stay in Uzbekistan for a week.
