Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Consul General Atabek Tursynbekov yesterday held a meeting with the director of the public association "Meyerim" in the city of Aktau, Mangistau region of Kazakhstan, Alexander Mukha, Dunyo news agency reported.
Alexander Mukha informed about the activities of the association and further plans of work together with the Consulate General of Uzbekistan. In particular, he noted that the main task of Meyerim is to combat human trafficking, as well as to help labor migrants who find themselves in difficult life situations.
In turn, the Uzbek side informed the Kazakh side in detail about the public fund "Vatandoshlar" and its activities to provide assistance to compatriots and labor migrants abroad.
Taking into account the closeness of the tasks of the center and the fund, the director of "Meyerim" expressed interest in establishing cooperation with the fund "Vatandoshlar".
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to work out the issue of cooperation between Meyerim and the Vatandoshlar Foundation, as well as the Agency for External Labor Migration under the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of Uzbekistan in order to expand the provision of assistance to Uzbek citizens engaged in labor activities in Mangistau region.
