Tashkent did not receive an official request for a visit by a Pentagon delegation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan denied the report of Politico that this month, representatives of the Pentagon will visit Uzbekistan to discuss the possibility of deploying US anti-terrorist forces in the country.
“I cannot confirm this information, because we have not received anything officially. Officially, we would have already been informed, but at the moment there is nothing,” Defense Ministry spokesman Bakhrom Zulfikarov told RIA Novosti.
It should be underlined that the legislation of Uzbekistan does not allow the deployment of foreign military bases and other similar objects on the territory of the country.
