Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 October 2021, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia Terhi Hakala.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of relations between Uzbekistan and the European Union in the Afghan direction.

The senior diplomat emphasized the significant role of Uzbekistan in establishing long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan.

The European side was also informed about the efforts of Uzbekistan to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people, and economic assistance to Afghanistan.
