Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 September, law enforcement officers of Uzbekistan detained 10 members of the religious-extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, who lived in Almazar district of Tashkent.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan notes that the detained men had previously served their sentences for crimes committed in the ranks of this organization.
They communicated with members of Hizb ut-Tahrir hiding abroad. The detainees were engaged in promoting the ideas of the organization among the population.
In the apartments and telephones of the detained persons, law enforcement officers found materials related to the organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir". They also seized material evidence confirming the involvement of persons in this terrorist organization.
Currently, law enforcement officers are conducting a pre-investigation check.
