WFP logistics center established in Uzbekistan to provide assistance to Afghanistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The UN World Food Program has established a main logistics center in Termez (Uzbekistan). This was reported by the UN News Center.
The report notes that the UN is increasing stocks of essential goods in warehouses in Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in connection with the increased needs for food aid in Afghanistan.
Over the past days, humanitarian supplies have been delivered to UN agencies in the provinces of Afghanistan. On the eve of the convoy of the Office of Refugees (UNHCR) safely reached Nangarhar. This is the second in the past three weeks, a convoy with assistance, proceeded to Afghanistan through the Pakistani checkpoint Torkha.
