Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a document on customs simplification.
The decree sets up customs posts for “remote electronic declaration”. From 1 October, they will appear at the customs departments of the Tashkent, Syrdarya, Kashkadarya and Khorezm regions, and from 1 April 2022 - in other departments.
These posts will remotely process electronic customs declarations of goods for participants in foreign economic activity.
From 1 December, at border checkpoints for vehicles, verification of documentation provided by veterinary and phytosanitary services will be carried out through the customs information system "Single Window". The affixing of seals and registration of documents is canceled.
From 1 January 2022, customs duties paid or collected in excess of the measure will be returned to payers within three days.
For deferred or phased (in installments) payment of customs duties, a minimum period of 14 days is established, during which no interest will be charged.
Also, from 1 January, in accordance with the recommendations of the World Customs Organization, a Central Customs Laboratory is being created at the State Customs Committee. It will carry out a commodity examination, determination of the composition of tobacco products and alcoholic beverages, as well as other services related to the certification of goods.
