Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 September, in the format of a video conference, negotiations between the Rosselkhoznadzor and the State Plant Quarantine Inspectorate under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan were held.
The Russian side reported that it revealed in the consignments of Uzbek nectarines a fungal disease that is quarantine for the EAEU member states - brown monilious rot (Monilinia fructicola). The Rosselkhoznadzor noted that earlier this quarantine object had not been detected in Uzbek fruits, asked to conduct an investigation, find out the origin of nectarines and ensure the supply to Russia of products grown only in zones, places, areas free from the disease.
The ministry also emphasized that brown monilious rot affects not only stone fruit, but also seed crops, which must also be carefully checked by the Uzbek side.
Another topic of the dialogue was the more frequent detection of the eastern moth (Grapholitha molesta Busck) in Uzbek products. The Uzbek side confirmed the increased number of notifications received from the importing countries on the identification of this insect and assured that it intends to adjust the control program by distributing it.
In addition, the State Plant Quarantine Inspectorate turned to the Rosselkhoznadzor with a request to hold training seminars for Uzbek specialists on the fight against the eastern moth and methods of fumigation of goods.
