Sharq Taronalari participants arrive in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- First participants of the seventh international music festival Sharq Taronalari (Oriental Melodies) have arrived in the city of Samarkand.

Bandar Abid from Kuwait says he came to Uzbekistan for the third time. “Our previous performances were warmly greeted by the audience. We will demonstrate the samples of the national musical art of our people.”

Adam Ryde from Scotland is participating in the forum for the first time. “We heard a lot about Sharq Taronalari and I am glad we are going to take part this year.”

The musical event, held on the initiative of the President Karimov since 1997, helps strengthen mutual friendship and cultural ties among the peoples, as well as preserve and develop national musical and singing traditions, UzA reported.
