Siemens Energetika to service the gas turbine of the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A ceremony of signing a long-term service agreement between Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex LLC (SHGCC), Uzbekistan and Siemens Energy AB (Sweden), which is part of the Siemens Energetika concern, took place in the Shurtan village of Kashkadarya region.
The long-term service agreement will last for 15 years and includes preventive and emergency maintenance of the SGT-500 gas turbine, which drives the process compressors.
Under this agreement, Siemens Energy AB will supply the necessary spare parts for 15 years and mobilize its specialists for routine inspections, as well as remotely monitor the condition of the gas turbine and provide round-the-clock technical support.
To ensure uninterrupted operation of the gas turbine, the scope of supply also included spare parts for a long period of production for storage in a warehouse, as well as the modernization of the fire detection and fire extinguishing system, due to the fact that the existing system was outdated and was discontinued.
In addition, to improve the qualifications of the customer’s operating personnel, trainings were provided at the Siemens Energy AB training center in Finspong, Sweden.
After the signing of the agreement, Shokir Eshmurodov, the first deputy general director and chief engineer of SHGCC, noted: “Thanks to the decision of the special commission on combating coronavirus led by Prime Minister of Uzbekistan allowed to conclude this agreement with with Siemens Energetika, This agreement will allow us to ensure uninterrupted operation and prompt repair of the gas turbine and its auxiliary equipment over the next 15 years. This is especially important on the eve of the commissioning of the UzGTL plant, which will be technologically connected with the SHGCC”.
Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex LLC (SHGCC) is one of the leading enterprises in the oil and gas industry of Uzbekistan and is a part of Uzbekneftegaz JSC. SHGCC started working in 2001 on the basis of Shurtan gas condensate fields (GCF). The enterprise processes up to 3.9 bcm of feed gas per year. The complex is designed for the production of 150 grades of high, medium and low density linear polyethylene.
Uzbekistan is one of the key markets for Siemens Energy in Central Asia. The installed equipment park of the company in Uzbekistan totals about 100 units. In 2017, the launch of a large-scale cooperation program "Initiative for Uzbekistan" between the Republic and the company was announced. As part of the Initiative, a number of bilateral cooperation documents were signed, including on technological partnership in the development of the fuel and energy complex, smart cities (digitalization of urban infrastructure), wind energy, and healthcare.
